How Do I Stay Motivated…

During college, which I just finished a couple of weeks ago, I was mostly determined and motivated to finish strong for tons of different reasons, but it wasn’t always like that. I have been in school for a bit longer than most, and I didn’t want to be there anymore, but I did know that I needed to acquire as much information and knowledge that I could during my time there. That piece of knowing that I should learn as much as possible and use all the resources that I had is one piece that motivated me to push forward. What motivated me was not only wanting to hurry and finish with school, but I had also developed a new mindset of believing in myself, which is still evolving to this day for a couple of years now. Believing in myself helped me create a sense of self-confidence, and I think that goes hand-in-hand when trying to push forward in any given situation. With that, I was then able to develop my “why;” which is “why” I do things now that I have been out of college for a couple of weeks now. “Why” I started my website and this blog. “Why,” I said yes to my internship that is 1 and a half hour of a commute.

Honestly, my “why” is wanting to get that perfect full-time job. My ideal situation is being part of a company that values its employees and showcases that through their company culture. I want to work for a marketing agency or for a brand where I can help them achieve their goals through strategic marketing. I want to be happy showing up to a job and I that is “why” I do things right now. After I land that perfect job, I do know that my “why” will change, and that’s okay because I have so many other things that I want to accomplish.

Finding Your “Why”

Your “why” can be anything from wanting to help your parents, to get a high-paying job, to wanting never to have to work again, to traveling, to whatever your end goal is. Also worth to note that your “why” can always change. You can have short-term “why’s” and long-term “why’s.” This can always change because nothing is ever set in stone. You are always changing and evolving, just like your goals, which is excellent! You don’t want to feel like you’re stuck somewhere.

Finding your “why” does take time to develop, but finding out exactly “why” you do the things that you do will help you succeed. Take some time today and write down where you want to see yourself in the next 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years. By doing so, you will better understand yourself, and you can start to work towards where you’d like to be.
